OLDIES
Como OLDIES, en estricto rigor, se considera la música previa a 1962 año del comienzo de la era The Beatles y The Rolling Stones. Esto es una división muy arbitraria ya que la música es solo una larga cadena en que no existe un antes y un después. Sin duda la música antigua y desde la música clásica en sus diversos períodos siguen inspirando a nuevos artistas a crear sus obras que a todos nos parecen modernas sin embargo mucho sigue y seguirá estando inspirado en lo anterior que es tan válido como lo actual. La remasterización de todas estas creaciones nos permiten hoy evaluarlas con mejor sonido y apreciar su calidad. La música occidental contemporánea tiene tres grandes fuentes, el Rhythm & Blues que es una derivado de la música étnica africana en USA que se hizo fuerte desde los 40's. La segunda fuente es la música Clásica incluyendo la ópera que será fuente del inicio de la música popular europea y una tercera fuente no menos importante que es el Folk. Recordar que muchas grabaciones son monofónicas dada la época aunque mejoradas con tecnología de reducción de ruido y remasterización. Los Oldies incluyen R&B, Jazz, Góspel, Doo Wop y Rockabilly. El R&B más típico y uno de sus hijos como el Rock & Roll irán en esta sección también. Hoy, con el paso del tiempo se incluye como Oldies también música posterior a 1962 pero con características anteriores.
